Rick D. Smitherman Profile

Mr Smitherman joined Texas Realty Partners in  March 2006 to provide expertise in both commercial and residential real estate sale and leasing transactions. Mr. Smitherman is a licensed real estate salesperson, a member of the Austin Board of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors.

Prior to joining Texas Realty Partners, Mr. Smitherman managed the Foreclosed Assets Division for a major nationwide Commercial Bank.  He is experienced in the marketing and management of all types of commercial and residential properties and was responsible for the negotiation and sale of over $300mm in properties in 15 states. A few of the profile properties marketed and sold by Mr. Smitherman include the Chase Tower in downtown Austin, The SkyMeadow Country Club in New Hampshire,  the Lincoln Heights Plaza in San Antonio as well as numerous commercial, industrial, retail, ranch and residential properties over 15 states.  

Mr. Smitherman received a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University in 1978 and graduated from the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at SMU in 1985. Mr Smitherman taught a graduate level real estate course at The Tuck Business School at Dartmouth University in 1992.  

Mr. Smitherman has been involved in numerous civic and community organizations in Austin over the years.  He was a founding director of The Real Estate Counsel of Austin.
